Winter is here in Teton Valley, and this weekend has a lot to offer! With Grand Targhee Resort reporting 304 inches of snow year to date, the winter sports in our area have been phenomenal.  This upcoming weekend our mountain community has a number of great activities to take advantage of.  You can choose from skiing some amazing snow at Grand Targhee Resort or our endless backcountry, MD Nursery’s Winter Farmer’s Market, live music at the Knotty Pine in Victor up at the Trap Bar at Grand Targhee Resort, or skating at the Kotler Ice Rink.  Whatever activities you choose this weekend, Teton Valley has something for everyone.

2016 was another strong year in real estate for Teton Valley, ID and WY. When looking at total inventory sold we are up 7% from 2015.  The sector of our market that saw the largest increase in units sold when compared to 2015, are the building sites with an 18% increase.   In 2016, the average lot price was $82,000.

I believe the increase in building sites can be attributed to an increased confidence in our valley as well as increasing home prices.  With the average home price in 2016 at $386,000 Buyers are opting to build homes versus purchasing from the limited supply of inventory on the market.
