Spring and Summer in the Tetons
ENDLESS RECREATION AND GLORIOUS VIEWSCAPES
Teton Valley comes to life in the spring with the abundance of summer activities. One can enjoy a hike, horseback ride or mountain bike ride through one of the numerous trailheads in the valley to mountaintops and alpine lakes. The Aspen Trail, Horseshoe Canyon Trails, and the Teton Canyon Trails are among the favorites in the valley. The Wind and Ice cave hikes are great to add to your bucket list too. If you would rather swing a club, there are five golf courses in our valley to challenge you. If wetting a line is your thing, you are centrally located to maximize your fishing adventures on the Teton River, Henry’s Fork, South Fork of the Snake River and world famous Snake River.
We are also home to Music on Main, an amazing and free concert offered every Thursday night in the Victor City Park. Come enjoy the local foods and hospitality. Grand Targhee Resort offers endless mountain biking and hiking trails, horseback riding as well as scenic chair lift rides in the summer. There are two unique music experiences: the Bluegrass Festival and Targhee Music Festival. If flying is your passion, Teton Aviation has scenic plane and glider flights to soar to the best view of the Grand Teton Mountains…positively breathtaking. There are also hot air balloon flights available in the valley if you dare to fly high.
Fall and Winter in the Tetons
THE ANTICIPATION OF SNOW
Fall is the time of year when cooler nights are on the radar, inspire by the fire and dream of snowy plans. You can still find people out on the trails and exploring the rivers and lakes, taking in the radiance of the fall mountain foliage. Fly fishing in autumn is a wonderful treat as the rivers are less-crowded. It is also a great time to find yourself at one of the many amazing restaurants our valley has to offer: from award-winning brew pubs to ethnic cuisine to quaint spots with locally grown and raised food. You are sure to find a favorite restaurant in our valley. Our valley also offers great classes for yoga and fitness to train your body and mind for future adventures.
When the first snowflakes fly, you can sense the anticipation in the valley. It opens up a new season of recreation and activities. Grand Targhee Resort and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (just over the mountain pass) offer some of the best snow and vertical terrain in the United States. These resorts are dynamic and constantly adding new area lifts, skiable terrain and discount packages. The Kotler Arena in Victor is home to hockey and ice skating while many trailheads offer opportunities for cross country skiing, fat biking, snow shoeing and skijoring. For those that prefer to get further off the beaten path there are backcountry tours, heli-skiing tours and overnight stays at yurts, not to mention snowmobiling tours in Yellowstone and other favorite locales. Enjoy powder mountains at their finest; revel in hospitality like no other.
